Re-Branding & Re-Design
Re-Branding
Re-branding is the process in which a product or service developed with one brand, company or product line affiliation is marketed or distributed with a different identity. This may involve radical changes to the brand's logo, brand name, image, marketing strategy, and advertising themes. These changes are typically aimed at the repositioning of the brand/company/professional. Re-branding is carried out for a variety of reasons; new business acumen; up-branding; new target market; or is can be done to distance itself from negative connotations of the previous branding.
Re-branding can be applied to new products, old products, or even products still in development. The process can occur intentionally through a deliberate change in strategy or occur unintentionally from unplanned, emergent situations, such as a deflated economy; stock market crash; corporate restructuring; or in the case of personal branding; divorce; job loss; demotion or career change. |
Re-Design
A redesign includes an evaluation of the existing design; research the market; interviewing the client for their specific needs, desires and setting the design to attain those goals. The evolutionary point of view the functionality is best understood as a result of redesign and the successful outcomes of cumulative improvements to that design.
